Today’s modern office looks nothing like it did just 20 years ago. Outfitted with some of the most modern systems and equipment, the office of today is a contemporary and sleek place of business. No longer do you hear the hum of noisy office equipment or unsightly machines. In fact, today’s office environment resembles any peaceful environment that you can easily relax in and not feel overwhelmed with huge, bulky, machines. You may not even notice some of the hardware unless you look hard. Here are some of the latest gadgets that are making the “sterile” office a thing of the past.
Sleek, modern phones Today’s phones fit in with the office environment so well that you’ll hardly notice them. Gone are the clunky huge intercom systems that receptionists or secretaries had used in the past. Most receptionists, in fact, where clip on earphone devices so they don’t even have to pick up a receiver. You might think that they’re talking to themselves, when in fact they are speaking to their boss hundreds of miles away. A side benefit of some of these ultra-modern phone systems is that they could be hooked up to the network system. What that means is that instead of dialing on the regular phone line service, they are piggybacking on the office’s Internet lines. That automatically reduces the office’s phone bill by hundreds of dollars each and every month.
Flat screen monitors Gone are the days of bulky computer monitor screens. The new flat screens take up half the space and are so sleek and narrow that you’ll have a hard time noticing that it’s an actual piece of office equipment. The LCD screens are also much easier on the eyes, which means less eyestrain issues for employees.
Small, more powerful copy machines Today’s copy machines fit inconspicuously in the office environment. Built smaller and requiring less power, these machines can just about do everything with a push of a button. They’re much quieter as well, so you won’t even be able to tell that the copy machine is busy making copies while you’re busy at work. Some copiers today are also energy efficient, which means lower utility bills for the office.
